Moodle is a course management system (CMS) - a free, Open Source software package designed using sound pedagogical principles, to help educators create effective online learning communities. You can download and use it on any computer you have handy (including webhosts), yet it can scale from a single-teacher site to a 50,000-student University. This site itself is created using Moodle, so check out the Moodle Demonstration Courses or read the latest Moodle Buzz.
| Unlike the math courses listed in Moodle, the thematic nature of our investigations in science lend themselves to a slightly different format. Each field of study will be listed as a separate "module" and posted in the order in which it will be covered. I will still post assignments, but they won't be listed by week. Instead, I will make a reference in the title or post a notice in the "upcoming events" section to the right of the page to let you know that an assignment has been posted and when it is due. Of course students will also be given this information in class. Intermediate and Middle school students will be working on different activities and I will make it clear who a given assignment is intended for. However, many resources will be of value to all students.
This course contains information and resources for students to use in their research for the "Stock Market Game."
